Learn from the experts at Tumbling Creek Farm how to grow edible and medicinal mushrooms and set up a successful mushroom cultivation space at home! In this hands-on workshop, Marlene and Cliff Bottenfield will teach you how to pasteurize and inoculate straw with oyster mushrooms; layer a raised bed substrate and inoculate it with wine cap /garden giant mushrooms; and select and plug a log with shiitake mushrooms to take home. Workshop includes a catered lunch, and is limited to 25 people.
Instructors: Marlene and Cliff Bottenfield are the first mushroom growers in the United States to be both certified organic and biodynamic. They live in Nevada City at their beautiful 38-acre Tumbling Creek Farm.
Workshop Fee: $75 per person, includes lunch and shiitake mushroom starter kit.
