Add – On Workshop: Growing Mushrooms

Learn from the experts at Tumbling Creek Farm how to grow three different kinds of mushrooms and set up a successful mushroom cultivation space at home! In this hands-on workshop, Marlene and Cliff Bottenfield will teach you how to pasteurize and inoculate straw with oyster mushrooms; layer a raised bed substrate and inoculate it with wine cap /garden giant mushrooms; and select and plug a log with shiitake mushrooms to take home. Workshop includes a catered lunch, and is limited to 25 people.
Instructors: Marlene and Cliff Bottenfield are the first mushroom growers in the United States to be both certified organic and biodynamic. They supply mushrooms to local Nevada County markets and restaurants, grown at their beautiful 38-acre Tumbling Creek Farm.
Workshop Fee: $75 per person, includes lunch and shiitake mushroom starter kit.
